After 143 years London-headquartered shipbroker Simpson Spence Young is going in for a rebrand and will be known henceforth simply as SSY.
In addition to the official name change, SSY has also unveiled a new global corporate identity, a new website, and a dedicated online portal for its research division.
Speaking on today’s announcement, Stanko Jekov, the managing partner of SSY, commented; “Broking is changing – it’s become much more global as a business – so too has SSY. Today, we are active in 24 global locations and we will continue to expand around the world. To support this future growth, SSY will unify under one clear, strong and global brand as we move into a new, exciting era for our firm.”
Like many segments of shipping, broking has been going through a considerable period of consolidation with SSY very active on the acquisitions front buying F3 Offshore, Westshore Shipbrokers and Anchor Shipbroking in the last couple of years.
