The company, which is a fully owned subsidiary of Allianz Partners – will transfer control of simpleinsurance Broker – which trades under the brand name Schutzklick Makler – to fellow Allianz-backed insurtech Clark.
The brokerage business will be ‘fully integrated into the Clark group of companies’, while the Schutzklick Makler team will ‘remain active in customer service and consulting at the Berlin location’.
The move is intended to allow simpleinsurance to ‘focus on its core competencies in embedded insurance’. The company offers embedded insurance across a range of sectors, including travel, mobility, e-commerce, fintech, and banking.
It follows Allianz’s takeover of simpleinsurance in September 2022. Robin von Hein, CEO and founder of simplesurance said: “In the last year, being part of Allianz Partners has brought huge benefits to the company and our clients including landmark partnerships across sectors.”
Allianz Global Assistance also announced a partnership with Canadian low-cost airline Lynx Air earlier this month.
