Travelex, a foreign currency exchange company, won a five year contract to run a foreign exchange and tax refund operation at Munich Airport. In particular, the company will operate two stores and ATMs at non-Schengen areas of Terminal 1, according to a press release.
Munich Airport is the second busiest airport in Germany. With this partnership, Travelex now operates 25 stores and more than 50 ATMs in Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne airports.
“We are hugely excited to have won the tender to operate at Munich Airport, and to serve a city that has developed into one of Europe’s favorite shopping and tourism destinations, drawing millions of high-end travelers from around the world every year,” Leonard Stolk, director of Travelex Europe, said in the release. “Last year we celebrated thirty years of operations in Germany, and winning Munich Airport’s tender marks the latest successful chapter in our European journey.”
