Hana Financial Group announced on Tuesday that it had drawn over 5 million subscribers for Travlog, a mobile currency exchange service that cumulatively saved customers over 100 billion won (approximately $73 million) in fees.
The service offers around-the-clock currency exchange 365 days a year. Designed for customers traveling abroad, it provides fee-free currency exchange for 41 currencies, an increased exchange limit of up to 3 million won ($2,185) per currency, and free foreign currency remittance services.
Since February, Hana Bank has improved convenience by allowing immediate card issuance at branches upon application. As a result, the number of service users, which surpassed 4 million in February, rose further to 5 million within just three months.
The amount of currency exchanged also surpassed 1.9 trillion won as of May. To date, subscribers have saved over 100 billion won, including 57.2 billion won in currency exchange fees, 28 billion won in international transaction fees and 15.9 billion won in overseas ATM withdrawal fees.
