The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Thursday, and the yield on benchmark government debt climbed.
The loonie was trading 0.2% lower at C$1.3778 to the greenback, or 72.58 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3748 to 1.3793.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields rose 4.3 basis points to 3.145%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 4.067%.
U.S. November crude futures rose 18 cents to $70.57 a barrel on Thursday.
